Malecon in Santa Rosalia
A new project began this week in Santa Rosalia. We are restoring the Malecon.
This restoration project is slated to be completed before New Year’s Day 2005. This “Grand Project” will only take one month.
I truly believe they will make the deadline!!!
Some days we have fifty or more workers and heavy equipment that hastens the project.
The funds for this project exceed 6 million pesos (~$525,000.00).
The money comes from port taxes. Boats and Ships that use the Santa Rosalia Marina pay docking fees.
The City of Santa Rosalia is using this money for the restoration. The ships from the Gypsum Mines and the Ferry are the biggest contributors.
Again, the money for this restoration comes from the residents of Santa Rosalia and not from the Federal Government or the State of BCS.
I will keep everyone posted in the upcoming weeks of the progress of this GREAT Project.
